Coronavirus Update

Due to the national lockdown announced on 4th Jan, all pupils should now work from home (except vulnerable/key worker children, who should attend school as normal). All lessons will be provided by remote learning on Microsoft Teams. We ask parents and guardians to help ensure students complete this work.

For more information on working from home and assistance available, please see the letter sent home Jan 5th 2021

For more information on mass asymptomatic testing, please see the letter from Jan 6th 2021

Pupils must self isolate for 10 days starting from the last contact they had with a pupil who has tested positive. When a pupil has been off school prior to being tested, the self isolation period lasts for 10 days from the last time they were at school.

If your son develops symptoms of Coronavirus, he must get a test and all members of your family must isolate.

GOVERNMENT MASS ASYMPTOMATIC TESTING  FROM JANUARY 2021

From January 2021, schools and colleges will be offering free mass testing onsite to staff and students. This is to help identify individuals who have the virus but are asymptomatic.

For information on testing, please see the government information leaflet on self-swabbing.

Tests are free of charge and will be carried out onsite under the supervision of trained staff.

If you wish your child to be tested in school, more information is available here and a completed consent form must be returned to the school: office@burnage.manchester.sch.uk
