In light of the latest guidance from the Government released yesterday, as we are still under local lockdown restrictions in Greater Manchester, students must now wear a face covering on buses and in communal areas such as corridors but will not be required to wear a face covering in the classroom.
The school is well served by local transport, both the normal service buses which run along Burnage Lane, Kingsway, and Mauldeth Road, and by special buses which leave for Longsight and Piccadilly.
The Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive (GMPTE) allows for the provision of free bus passes for students who live more than three miles from school.
For students who live 2 miles away from the school and are on free school meals or whose parents receive maximum bus tax credit, a pass is also provided free.
Applications for such passes should be made to the GMPTE (Tel:0161 242 6116) or through the school office.
We do our best to supervise students as they leave school but we ask that you impress upon your son the importance of abiding by the normal rules of safety when crossing the busy roads around the school.
