Y6 Work Packs (Please Complete And Bring With You In Sept)

Manchester ‘Transition Read’ project

This package is to support the citywide literacy scheme that aims to provide a brand new book for every year 6 student to read over the summer. We have also added some fun activities to extend learning and provide useful student information for Form Tutors in September.

Transition Literacy Booklet 2020

‘Be Awesome, Go Big’ project

This package is to help Year 6 students transition into Year 7. It can be used by students and parents at home or in school with teachers in class.

It is designed to be motivational, helpful and reassuring and to help young people feel valued, loved, encouraged and equipped for the journey ahead.

There are 9 sessions to follow and a booklet for the students to complete. You can also find the full resources here: https://www.hachetteschools.co.uk/landing-page/hachette-schools/be-awesome-go-big-in-association-with-pixl The website also has teacher and parent resources for you to share.

We would really encourage those students joining Burnage Academy for Boys in September to complete a booklet, and if they bring it completed on their first day in September they will receive their first reward points on Class Charts.

I hope you find these resources useful in supporting your Year 6 students through this challenging time.
If you require any further support or assistance please do not hesitate to get in contact with us using our dedicated email transition@burnage.manchester.sch.uk
