Whilst we are welcoming our new families into the Burnage Academy community this month, attention also turns to those in Year 6 who are thinking about applying for secondary school. We know that it is a big decision, and how important it is that families get as much information as possible. To help people get to know us, we’ll be hosting our annual Open Evening on Thursday 28 September, from 4.30pm-7pm. Why not come and join us?
During the evening, parents and pupils will be able to try activities in a range of subjects. Have you ever taken part in science experiments in a lab? Maybe you’d like to learn new words in a new language, or create some artwork of your own in our studio? If sport is your thing, then would you like to try wrestling or climbing?
Mr Harrison and some of our pupils will also present their experiences of the school, and staff will be on hand to answer any questions that you may have. Our entire building will be open, so you can see the brilliant facilities in sport, technology, engineering, computing and more.
There will be a gift bag for all who attend and even a prize draw for those who take part – just like our famous ‘etiquette card’ draws in school!
However, our doors are always open – if you’d like to come and see us either before or after Open Evening, then do get in touch and we can arrange a tour at your convenience. In the meantime, do follow us on social media, and sign up for our newsletter here.
