Trustees and Governors statement on the appeal to OFSTED

The Trustees and Governors of Burnage Academy for Boys have studied the OFSTED report published on 8th September 2016 and while we recognise that every school can improve, we do not accept the overall judgement of the Inspectors.

To this end, we support the Head and his team in appealing against both the overall judgement and the many inaccuracies contained in the report. The appeal was made to OFSTED on Thursday 15th September and they have 30 days in which to respond.

Once we have their decision, the Head will consult on what further steps to take, if any. Only once the process is complete will we publish the complaint on our website so that parents can better understand our position.

The Trustees and Governors have full confidence in the Head and staff at Burnage and can reassure parents and pupils that the school will continue to put the interests of the boys first and deliver a first class education.
